CURRENT PROJECTS AT HELPKIDS2LIVE
Helping Orphanages (2022 to date): Assist Divine Mercy Orphanage and other orphanages in South Sudan with food, school supplies, building materials, and healthcare. Over $30,000 in total has been donated in cash and building supplies.
Providing Books to South Sudan Schools and Colleges (2023 to date): This most recent project just started in partnership with Kyle's Campaigns for Change (KCC). See section below for details.
Clean Drinking Water: Solar powered pump provided for Comboni School in Kator (outside Juba), South Sudan; This project saves the school $6 million pounds (about $8,000) each year in water costs since the school no longer has to pay for water truck delivering water from the Nile. See the pix to the right for video of water project.
Pix above is in the library (donated building from charity) at a private school in S. Sudan. The book shelves are empty because they cannot obtain any books despite being "private" and despite being much better off than all of the other schools. Of course, other schools are much worse.
Text books in South Sudan are extremely rare because of their cost. HelpKids2Live has started a brand new project to obtain books no longer needed by local schools in Virginia where Bridget attends 11th grade. In the United States, when school text books are replaced from time to time the old books are discarded. A county school system in Northern Virginia has stepped up to help, and is an indefinite (forever) source of 50,000 books per month. All that remains is funding to ship the books from Virginia to Juba, SS.
PLEASE BE GENEROUS AND HELP US WITH THE SHIPPING COSTS.
HelpKids2Live is doing this project in concert with Kyle's Campaigns for Change (KCC-T1d.org)
Schools in South Sudan are extremely poor with most not having electricity, running water, or general classroom equipment. However, students are extremely eager and hungry to learn. They are often 75-100 per classroom and sit side-by-side on benches while receiving instruction. Although there is much to be done, the key issue missing for all schools in South Sudan is access to books. You might be surprised that they have teachers, and they are pretty good. They simply have no books.
Despite these extreme hardships, the students are very eager to learn and want to go to school. They WANT to live as World Citizens. This is where HelpKids2Live, and concert with KCC-T1D.org is helping.

2022; I visited Juba and Wau, South Sudan in 2022 for three weeks after raising nearly $15,000 in cash. Later, $15,000 of material was donated for new roof and construction of dormitories at the DMA orphanage.
